JMSI, through its business association/stake holder relationship, partnered with UEM on various phases of project development, marketing & implementation on turnkey basis; generating revenues of over USD 150 million.
JMSI & UEM formed entity - GEM UEM Inc Ltd - in Trinidad, West Indies in 1998, which implemented 45+ water & sewage treatment plant projects in Caribbean.
JMSI & UEM also created Mexico-based entity & successfully implemented wastewater treatment projects in the country.
JMSI through association with UEM, participated in implementation of wastewater treatment plant for Coca-Cola bottling facility.
JMSI provided implementation support to UEM on turnkey wastewater treatment plant project for Gatorade manufacturing operation in Florida, USA.
JMSI marketed & developed relationship with Bristol-Myers Squibb, then sold project for implementation of wastewater treatment plant in Mexico. JMSI also participated with UEM in implementation of turnkey plant.
JMSI marketed & developed relationship with P&G, then sold project for implementation of wastewater treatment plants in Indonesia & Thailand. JMSI also participated with UEM in implementation of turnkey plants.
JMSI marketed & sold opportunity for turnkey implementation of wastewater treatment plant for Unilever in Ecuador. JMSI also participated with UEM in turnkey implementation of project.
JMSI marketed & developed relationship with Mead Johnson Nutrition, then sold project for implementation of wastewater treatment plant in Mexico. JMSI also participated with UEM in implementation of turnkey plant.
JMSI marketed & developed wastewater treatment project at Elementis Specialties in West Virginia, USA. JMSI also participated with UEM in successful implementation of plant.
JMSI developed extensive experience in working with Ex-Im Bank in facilitating financing for turnkey projects. One of the very few tied aid projects was successfully funded in Ghana, through JMSI efforts, which implemented project on turnkey basis. JMSI further participated with UEM in project implementation.
JMSI marketed & developed project for Millar Western Ltd in Alberta, Canada, then sold it for turnkey solution in treatment of wastewater at company's pulp & paper mill. Project included wastewater treatment through anaerobic digestion, biogas generation cleaning & capacity upgrade in order to generate electricity through reciprocating engines of 5.4 MW for reuse in mill. JMSI also participated with UEM team during implementation of turnkey project.
From 1983 to 1997, JMSI provided engineering design support, feasibility & sewer rate studies, & other technical, engineering & procurement-related services to J M Smith Engineering in over 200 water & wastewater treatment projects.
JMSI, in conjunction with J M Smith Engineering, also set up turnkey construction company - Industrial Municipal Contractors - & participated in implementing over 25 turnkey wastewater treatment plants for food processing & metal finishing industries in USA.
Through GEM UEM Inc Ltd, JMSI participated during implementation of various projects in water treatment, pipeline works, pumping stations, iron removal plants, aquifer, surface water & other related water supply contracts awarded by Guyana Water Incorporated.
JMSI marketed & developed animal manure & wastewater treatment project for GCM (affiliate of US-based Smithfield Foods). Project included development of anaerobic treatment for swine manure at three farms in Perote, Veracruz, Mexico. JMSI also participated with UEM in successful project implementation.
JMSI formed synergy & alliance with Eco Nrg Systems Ltd out of Canada, & together marketed & developed many waste-to-energy solutions for pulp & paper mills in Canada & USA. These included renewable energy projects for power generation & utilization by mill.
JMSI & Eco Nrg Systems were also successful in securing contract by Millar Western Ltd in Alberta. Project included treatment of wastewater & generation of renewable energy for reuse back in mill.
Through GEM UEM Inc Ltd, JMSI participated in implementation of water treatment plant, pipeline works, pumping station & other related projects for WASCO in Saint Lucia (Eastern Caribbean).
Through GEM UEM Inc Ltd, JMSI participated in implementation of over 45 water & wastewater treatment projects between 1998 to 2015; many for Water & Sewerage Authority of Trinidad & Tobago.
JMSI marketed & developed successful sale of wastewater treatment-to-renewable energy project for Demerara Distillers in Guyana, South America, makers of famous 'El Dorado Rum'. Project included anaerobic treatment & utilization of biogas as renewable energy for use in distillery boilers. JMSI also participated with UEM in successful implementation of turnkey project.
JMSI marketed & developed successful project for this Guatemalan distillery, makers of premium Ron Zacapa Centenario rum. Project included anaerobic treatment of wastewater to generate biogas for use as renewable fuel in distillery boilers, leading to over 90% fuel savings by company. JMSI also participated with UEM in turnkey implementation of project.
JMSI marketed & developed first successful sale of wastewater-to-energy turnkey project at distillery in Guatemala for Servicios Manufactureros, S.A., owned by Magdalena Group. Project involved anaerobically treating wastewater (vinasse) & generating renewable biogas energy for use by distillery boilers; leading to over 85% fuel cost savings. JMSI also participated with UEM in project implementation.
JMSI marketed & developed sale of wastewater treatment project for Nakornthai Steel Mill in Thailand. JMSI participated with UEM in successful implementation of project. The United States Steel Corporation or U.S. Steel is now group owner of NSM.
JMSI successfully closed a sale for procurement & supply of dual fuel MAN engines for electricity generation from digester gas at municipal sewage treatment plant in India. JMSI participated on behalf of UEM in negotiation & successful closure of sale of MAN engines for plant in supply of 3 MW of power.
Through jointly owned Mexico-based entity, JMSI participated with UEM in JV collaboration for successful implementation of sewage treatment plant in Morelia, Michoacán (Central Mexico) on BOT basis.
JMSI participated in providing engineering, design & project implementation support to UEM for wastewater treatment plant in Thailand for TORAY NYLON™ (Polyamide Fiber).
JMSI participated in providing engineering, design & project implementation support to UEM for wastewater treatment plant in Thailand for Tietex Industries.
JMSI negotiated & finalized licensee agreement for UEM with Graver Water Systems towards latter's lamella clarification, sludge thickening & other water treatment/pretreatment technologies; for one of largest desalination pretreatment plant projects for Indian conglomerate holding company Reliance Industries Limited.
Through GEM UEM Inc Ltd, JMSI participated in providing required support during former's implementation of wastewater treatment plants & solutions for HDC in Trinidad (West Indies).
JMSI marketed, developed & successfully closed turnkey water treatment plant project with Ghana Water Company. JMSI also facilititated financing for project from The Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM Bank). JMSI participated with UEM in project implementation.
Through GEM UEM Inc Ltd, JMSI participated in implementation of sewage treatment plant in St. Kitts & Nevis (West Indies).
JMSI marketed & developed supply of oil skimming equipment for Eco Petrol in Colombia (South America) which was later supplied through UEM.
Through GEM UEM Inc Ltd, JMSI participated in implementation of various water treatment plants in Trinidad & Tobago, managed by Carillion on behalf Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA).
JMSI marketed, developed & successfully sold turnkey wastewater treatment plant for Unicell Paper mills in Trinidad (West Indies). JMSI further participated in project implementation with UEM.
JMSI participated & took lead in finalizing negotiations on licensee agreement for biogas gas mixing system for UEM for use in many sewage treatment plant projects.
